PIECES – Parts of the Whole

Mario Cau (“Terapia”, “Dom Casmurro”, “Morphine”) returns to the series that launched him into the Brazilian and international comic book market as an author: Pieces. A poetic look at the small pieces that make up life, its encounters and disagreements, desires, broken hearts and friendship. They are pieces of a puzzle that we are completely unaware of.

Autobiography meets and mixes with fictional accounts in stories that invite the reader to ask themselves “what happens before and after that little piece of life?” According to the author, these are experiments in “(non)biographical autofiction”.

Every person is an entire universe inside and life is a rich patchwork: it is made up of moments that may seem fleeting, but which carry feelings and experiences that make us who we are.

And we ourselves, whole or in pieces, are part of something bigger. We are part of the whole.
