Produced in mid-2006, this comic is an adaptation of the song of the same name by the band Pearl Jam, one of my favorites. At the time, I was exploring the theme and producing many comics with a melancholic theme, and this song is one of the best to draw inspiration from.
As it is quite old, the style and technique are somewhat different, but you can already see the embryo of what my work would become, in, for example, Dom Casmurro (produced from 2009 to 2012) and Terapia (from 2011 to the present).
I used the "white on black" technique, which consists of painting, using white colored pencils and gouache, on black paper. The whole concept of the drawing in this technique is different from what I usually do on white paper, with black ink.

INDIFFERENCE
I will light the match this morning
So I won't be alone
Watch as she lies silent
For soon that will be gone
Oh, I will stand arms outstretched
Pretend I'm free to roam
Oh, I will make my way through
One more day in hell
How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?
I will hold the candle
Until it burns up my arm
Oh, I'll keep taking punches
Until they will grow tired
Oh, I will stare at the sun down
Until my eyes go blind
Hey, I won't change direction
And I won't change my mind
How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?
I'll swallow poison
Until I grow immune
I will scream my lungs out
Till it fills this room
How much difference...
How much difference...
How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?

This will soon be over

Oh, I'll keep taking punches
Until their will gets tired
Oh, I'll face the setting sun
Until I go blind
And I won't change direction
And I won't change my mind
How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?
I will drink poison
Until you become immune
I will scream my lungs out

What a difference
What a difference
How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?
